(www.tucows.com), the industry's largest domain name wholesaler, today announced the appointment of Josh Elliott as director of TLD (Top Level Domain) Operations for the Assigned Names Division (AND) - the domain name registration service arm of TUCOWS.com Inc. Elliott will be responsible for aggressively positioning AND in the growing domain name market.
Elliott brings to AND extensive domain registration experience, including managing the operations for Internet Assigned Names Authority (IANA) - the predecessor to ICANN - and building the world's first country code TLD database. IANA was the Internet's first central coordination, allocation and registration body for addresses, names and protocol parameters. At ICANN, Elliott was Manager of Administration, responsible for managing the organization's headquarters in Marina del Rey, California.
