Scandinavian Online and Tucows Bring the Best and Fastest Software Downloads to the Nordic Region
Portal network to offer world's best collection of software in four countries.
September 7, 2000 - Scandinavian Online, the leading portal network in the Nordic region, and Tucows Inc., a leading digital distributor of software on the Internet, have announced a content syndication agreement that will bring co-marketed versions of the award-winning Tucows software archive to the SOL portals in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
The SOL network reaches out to more than four million unique users a month, offering interest-specific channels, functions for web-based communities and communication, sophisticated search capabilities, and integrated online shopping. SOL is the leading portal in the Nordic market, both in unique users and revenues.
Tucows offers over 30,000 software titles, all tested, reviewed, and ranked according to the "five cow" system. Downloads are available for the Windows, Mac, Linux, BeOs and BSD operating systems. Categories include Office, PDA, HTML, Java, Children's, Games, Desktop Themes and Music. All titles are available for a free trial in accordance with Tucows' "try and buy" philosophy. The Tucows libraries are now offered by over 1,000 portals and Managed Service Providers in over 100 countries.
This agreement marks another major step towards universal Internet content – breaking through cultural and technical barriers to offer the best resources and information, whether it's software applications, entertainment, news, or research, to all Internet users around the world.
