Senior Financial Analyst - Remote

Job Opportunity:

Tucows has an exciting new position for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Finance Department. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this dynamic role will support several key areas of the Finance department. What you’ll be doing:

Corporate Accounting (65%)

  • The bulk of this role will be focused on the month-end closing process including posting all payroll and benefits entries, stock option transactions and stock based comp, depreciation and amortization entries, transfer pricing, intercompany netting and eliminations, and general corporate accruals as well as associated monthly reconciliations
  • Assist with the production and distribution of various management reports
  • Legal entity reporting including preparation of consolidated financial statements of subsidiaries
  • Support FP&A process by serving as finance liaison for corporate technology & overhead departments
  • Manage lease accounting process administered through LeaseQuery tool

 

External Reporting (15%)

  • Prepare supporting schedules to external reporting and MD&A production
  • Review 10Q/10K and ensure accuracy to supporting documentation
  • Assist with drafting parts of the 10Q/10K and MD&A

 

SOX & Internal Controls (10%)

  • Liaise with SOX & Internal Controls team to document, verify, and update key controls as well as external audit for controls testing, quarterly reviews, and annual audit
  • Assist with ad-hoc SOX internal controls reviews
  • Assist with gathering information for accounting policy memos

 

Other Assignments (10%)

  • Serve as admin for various finance systems including Intacct ERP
  • Work closely with HR & other corporate services teams to ensure data hygiene and assist with regulatory filings requiring financial inputs
  • Interface with the tax department to keep transfer pricing agreements updated, assist with information gathering for tax filings, and ensure intercompany balances are settled

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required as well as CPA designation or equivalent work experience
  • Strong reconciliation skills and understanding of accounting concepts
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, prioritize work under tight timelines, and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Intacct experience and/or experience with dimension based G/L would be a plus
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and ability to effectively convey information to various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner
  • High energy, friendly, collaborative, and team-oriented individual
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills required
