Verses of the Elders 1.1
Verses of the Elders provides verses from early Buddhist monks and nuns.

It randomly generates a verse each time it's opened. You could add it to the Startup Items folder so you have an uplifting message every time you start your Mac.
In addition, when you click on the quote, a new verse is brought up. The verses can be saved as text files and then printed.
System requirements: PowerPC; system 7.0 through Mac OS 9; 4 Mb RAM (5Mb preferred).
